On Thursday 29th February, to celebrate Rare Disease Day, the team at Berwick got together for some friendly competition to raise money for an excellent cause...
Competing in the Berwick Bake Off, the team went head to head to see who would win Berwick's Best Baker, based on presentation, taste, and effort. We even had the Mayor of Shrewsbury, Becky Wall, come and visit to rate all of our bakes! You may be asking, why the odd socks? We all wore our wackiest odd socks to raise awareness of the 50/50 odds of inheriting Huntington's Disease. Huntington’s Disease Association is a really important charity to the team at Berwick, after supplying care equipment to those with Huntington’s for a number of years. We truly understand the impact the disease can have on a person’s life, which is why we were so keen to raise money for such a great cause.
Let's just say we had quite the spread! The team ended up producing a whopping 18 tasty bakes...
It was a close call, but there could only be one winner...congratulations to Jefferson, the winner of the Berwick Bake Off 2024 with his Lemon Meringue Tart!
